www.5vemics.com is the future, yo. Check us out.

Looked and looked and looked some more, but I haven’t been able to find this anywhere on the internet since it dropped earlier this year (outside of iTunes and Boomkat stores) so I bought it. Info after the jump, but it here. BTW if you don’t know who either Blu or Sene are GTFO! Can’t wait for the full length Patch Adams LP. You best check it while it’s here ’cause like I said I can’t find it anywhere else, fuck my life if I’m lying.

Bonus: Sene ft. Blu - KingMe.mp3

With everyone making big noise about Tip’s latest release I thought we introduce you all to Tip’s unreleased album that was slated to come out between The Renaissance and Amplified, but never did due to his record labels disdain for the new direction he was taking his music in (some people compare it to Common’s Electric Circus). To basically say “fuck you” to the labels Tip leaked the album on the internet himself and here is the end result. A must have for an universal quester.

So DeLaRap requested these yesterday… perfect timing. I just recently noticed how few older hip-hop albums we have so I plan to start upping some 80s - late 90s stuff in the very near future. If you don’t recognize Hieroglyphics as the collective (and you take a major L if you don’t) then maybe you’ll recognize names such as Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Opio, A+, or Tajai (not all of the members or associated acts, but those are all of the members who have recently dropped material). Anywho, this group was one of Oaklands biggest acts during the 90s and still remains one of the best to date. I def recommend checking some of the material below for newbs and fans and If you’ve neglected to listen to other material by Hieroglyphics you must def check on their first few studio LPs (as well as on some Souls of Mischief).

Got a request for this one a little while ago. Any fan of Atmosphere or the Rhymesayers fam should have heard of this one (although I had some trouble finding it). If you’re familiar with any of the Headshots series (or even just the widely popular Headshots: Se7en) you’ll know most of the cats on this project… Of course there’s Slug of Atmosphere and Beyond (who later became Musab) as well as old school Rhymesayers junkies, Self One (aka I Self Divine) & Swift (who I have no idea what happened to). Apparently this was the first and last actual LP that was done by the group so, Iif you like the Headshots series & Deep Puddle Dynamics you’ll love this one… if you just like Atmosphere you’ll at least enjoy it.Like it? Buy it here.

3 tracks of bliss. Get it before it’s gone. If you like it, cop it here for $2.97.

(PS, where the fuck is my Swift and Changeable Doom/Ghost collabo?)

Posted some P.U.T.S. a while back and had to post this as soon as I saw it. For the ultimate P.U.T.S. fan or just for those who are trying to get into them (which it isn’t hard to do). Any fan of that Ol’ Boom Bap in the tradition of West Coast groups like Hieroglyphics, Souls of Mischief, Living Legends and The Pharcyde will dig this one. As always if you like it, buy it here.

Lately, Pete Philly & Perquisite have skyrocketed to the tops of my playlists. I randomly lay awake at night and wonder how I could have lived for so long without knowing about this duo. What the hell is wrong with me? Well, a lot, but that’s not important. Check out this remix album of PP&P’s debut, Mind.State.

Anybody who knows early to mid 90s east coast rap knows Edo G (member of Special Teamz and Boston’s crowned king) for his work with Da Bulldogs (if not his solo work). A few people may know him solely for his 2008 release, Acting (which was actually a ‘96 album that’d been shelved for 12 years). Either way for those who are or aren’t familiar here’s you chance to get better acquainted. These two joints were requested by Unbelievable94, but I thought every one could use a little bit of Edo in their life.

Was floating around heavily a few months ago (I believe it was 2dopeboyz who originally dropped it so check them out). Here’s to all of you who missed it and are craving more after hearing their first two LPs.

As any of you who know me can tell, Brother Ali is one of my favorite two MCs of all time (just look at my last.fm page). Unlike most artists I listen to, I didn’t get into Ali from listening to his first album because when I started listening to him the album was near impossible to find. Thanks to somebody who order one of the first 300 copies of Ali’s 2004 Champion EP, Ali’s Rites of Passage finally started to pop up all around the internet late last year. If I had never heard of Ali before I would’ve thought this album was made in the early-mid 90s… which is a good thing, a really good thing. This album takes you back to the time of Brand Nubian, Black Sheep, Black Moon, Tribe and De La Soul from Ali’s lyrics, to his production (he produced this album), even to the interludes. Rites of Passage is a masterpiece of an album, so please don’t sleep on it for your own sake.

I originally checked this cat out because I heard he was doing a joint with Blu to be released later this year (under the name Patch Adams). The dude has this entire Raks One look going on where you can just look at dude and tell he spits shit on the same note as Aaron Carter, but when you listen you’re blown away. One of my favorite albums in a while. Not one bad track on the album, great production and such. Only disappointing thing about the album is that I can’t find a physical copy of it anywhere. Check out dude’s biography on last.fm, very interesting shit, especially when you get to just how old dude is. Don’t sleep on this (it’s an EAC).

If you don’t know who The Cunninlynguists are or how they get down then I pity you greatly (check back in a few days, I’ll hook you up). If you do, then you’ll be excited about this drop. This is group member Deacon the Villain’s unreleased LP (produced by Tondeff of Extended F@mm). It’s been floating around the internet for sometime, but I know there’s a lot of cats who didn’t even know it exists so catch it while you can.
